Waterproof Mattress Protector

I want to get my daughter an electric blanket, but need to know if its safe to put a mattress waterproof over it??
someone knows?

Safe, yes, but why on top?

You can not put a blanket under a mattress, not only because it is a fire hazard. But over time the coils will more they can begin to break, if your child wets the bed there is a possibility of shock, not to mention that, if the temperature is raised, your daughter will be more Heat, sweat, and add the possibility to get shocked. I want to buy a mattress pad to go heater protected on the mattress, it is designed so that the coils are covered in waterproof material and better suited for your bear in mind.
