Teaching Children With AutismHow do I become a teacher who specializes in teaching children with autism?

I want to become, and I want to know the training that we must be going through.

About a degree in special education. Make sure you choose a good college.

I hope this is not just for the money

Your education is to study the teaching of children with special needs or whatever the college of your choice appeals disability studies. The greatest thing you can do is to begin observing and assisting in the field of autism. I know from working or volunteering in your chosen field that you get a general diploma is a way to show your intent and interest. So, do leg work "verification of qualifications specific to this work, read everything you can about the modern studies of autism and see if you can get involved in your community work with children with autism.

in the U.S. - you need a diploma four years in Special Ed and should consider obtaining certification with a Master BCBA

sepending onteh part of the country - the starting salary is in the summer 30-45k/year--often pay extra

Look for colleges that have both special and certification degrees BCBA ed

you may need to seek training outside of specific Technical files (such as VB changes in ABA, RDI, DIR, Miller, Sonrise) ... if you can work as an aide in a school for autism during the summer or the first year after graduation

This is not very different from that of graduate education to regular education, with the exception of courses specifically designed for special education. Learn how to make FPI, and how to deal with emotional outbursts, and distrust that some children with autism.
It usually takes about 4 years to get a teaching degree.

Each state has different rules and procedures. Contact the school district in which you want to work and ask them the degree and experience required.
