Jobs working with children with special needs or disabled children? I'm in high school and I really want to go to college in the future and having a job where I can work with children with disabilities or special needs. I've been around children with autism and severe learning disabilities and I really want to make this part of my life. ideas?
A special educational needs (SEN) teachers are specifically employed to work with children and young adults who have special educational needs. For example, teachers can work with SEN who are physically disabled, sensory impairments (deafness say / store) have language disorders like dyslexia, have mental disabilities such as autism, are emotionally vulnerable, have difficulty behavior, or have a combination of these handicaps. However, SEN teacher may also work with individuals gifted and talented.
A key aspect of working in the field of special educational needs is to identify individual needs and responsibility to create a safe learning environment, stimulating and conducive to allowing a child to succeed in their learning.
