Cable Basket

Cable BasketHow to add cable management to a basic office

Although computers are becoming more advanced, especially when it comes to wireless technology and connectivity, it will be some time until we have a completely wireless office. more consistent, if not every office is going to require at least a part of basic cable management.

There are several ways in which an existing desktop can be updated / modified to accommodate new equipment and cables, it depends how you want to take and how much you want to spend.

From the top!

If the office where you work does not have access through the surface of the lower surface, and the ports of cable can be placed almost anywhere to allow passage of cables. Cable ports themselves are not a very expensive, but you'll need to make a hole in the surface to be exact.

Once the cables can pass through the office they may need to travel horizontally in the tray or to a wall outlet or a computer processor unit. steel wire baskets can be mounted anywhere under the desk top and are available in different lengths as standard. power supplies can be provided with extensions in the basket of horizontal cables and can be easily accessed from the underside of the desk.

If you use a laptop and constantly need to disconnect from your office and use your laptop in another location then you might consider using a desk-mounted power module / data. These units are located above the office which makes it so much easier to access the power and data sockets, rather than getting under the desk when you need to reconnect or remove your laptop. The other (more expensive option) is to use a power module pop-up, which takes the same space as a normal cable and port when not in use seems to be more discreet.

To keep cables in order as they drop vertically to the ground or a processing unit spine flexible cable can be attached to the underside of the desk or clamped to the edge of the desk instead.

If you want to increase your processor unit of the computer on the ground, you can use any of a variety of office as mounted CPU holder that can usually be adjusted in height and width to accommodate most units processor, or a permanent floor holder on wheels that is more flexible and can be repositioned more easily. These can generally be located anywhere under the desk.
